Road Less Taken

Planning for a left-handed mouse has been a difficult journey, as it is a project that has drawn large costs at low demand. Adding to that challenge is the insufficient demand that was assessed over the course of multiple efforts, a notable one being the Kickstarter that we ran back in 2018.

It is far more complex than just simply flipping the original design around—machines need to be re-tooled (from mold to circuitry), and these mice have to undergo the standard QA checks, testing and certification. Like every product we release, our approach is uncompromising—the packaging and unboxing experience has to be perfect, with all these things executed at no additional cost to the consumer.

Did you know?

  • 10% of the entire population are left-handed—that means nearly 30 million people in the U.S. are lefties.
  • Some researchers believe lefties are better at handling stimuli, which means they’re naturally better at video games!
  • On a QWERTY keyboard, there are 1,447 English words typed solely with the left hand, while only 187 are keyed in with the right.

Why a left-handed mouse?

We remain the only gaming company that has designed dedicated left-handed gaming mice—from the best-selling Razer DeathAdder to the MMO-gamer favorite Razer Naga. While other ambidextrous mice have filled the space adequately, adequate isn’t enough for gamers. With that in mind, the Razer Naga offers the best utility from its programmable thumb grid to its ergonomic form factor.
