QUEBEC SUPPLEMENT – CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT (BILL 29)
Effective 5 October 2025This Quebec Supplement applies only to products sold or delivered to consumers in the Province of Québec. It forms part of and modifies Razer’s Limited Warranty solely to the extent required by the Consumer Protection Act (CQLR c. P-40.1), as amended by Bill 29 – An Act to protect consumers from planned obsolescence and to promote the durability, repairability and maintenance of goods. Unless otherwise specified below, all other terms of Razer’s Limited Warranty remain unchanged.
- 1. Legal Warranty of Good Working Order
In addition to Razer’s Limited Warranty, goods sold in Québec are covered by the legal warranty of good working order under the Consumer Protection Act. This legal warranty ensures that the product will function properly and be free from defects for a period of two (2) years from the original date of purchase, or for any longer period required by regulation. This legal warranty applies automatically and does not require registration or additional cost. - 2. Warranty Transferability and Duration
The legal warranty of good working order is attached to the product itself and continues to benefit any subsequent purchaser for the remaining duration of the original warranty period. The warranty does not restart or renew upon resale or transfer of ownership. Razer’s Limited Warranty will also apply to subsequent owners of the product in Québec for any unexpired portion of the warranty term. - 3. Repairability, Parts, and Maintenance Information
Razer guarantees the availability of replacement parts and authorized repair services for a reasonable period of time following purchase, which shall be no less than three (3) years after the end of production for the relevant product model, or longer where required by Québec law. Razer provides, free of charge: diagnostic software, firmware, and updates necessary for maintenance and repair; and digital maintenance information sufficient to enable repair by technicians using commonly available tools. Razer does not engage in planned obsolescence and does not design products to have an intentionally shortened lifespan. - 4. Response to Repair Requests
For consumers in Québec, Razer will acknowledge and respond to any repair or maintenance request within ten (10) business days of receipt. If repair is not possible within a reasonable time, Razer will offer replacement or refund in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act. - 5. Relationship with Razer’s Limited Warranty
This Quebec Supplement and the legal warranty of good working order exist in addition to Razer’s Limited Warranty and other rights you may have under law. Nothing in Razer’s Limited Warranty limits or excludes the statutory rights of Québec consumers. - 6. Country-of-Purchase and Governing Law
The “country of original purchase” limitation in Razer’s Limited Warranty does not apply to Québec consumers. For products sold in Québec, your rights and remedies are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the Consumer Protection Act. - 7. Further Information
