Recognition by Design Business Chamber Singapore and Consulus affirms Razer’s commitment to design as a strategic business asset.
Razer™, the leading global lifestyle brand for gamers, has been named to the inaugural Design Power Index 2025 in the Technology of Design category.
The Design Power Index (DPI) was launched by the Design Business Chamber Singapore (DBCS) in partnership with global impact investment firm, Consulus. Unveiled at the recent World Design Business Forum, the DPI is the world’s first longitudinal framework that aims to quantify the economic and social impact of design. Companies are evaluated on four dimensions:
- Business of Design – Growth through intellectual property created by design
- Market of Design – Creation of new business categories
- Technology of Design – Innovation and user behavior shaped by design
- Societal Impact of Design – Societal change driven by design
Razer was recognized for its “uncompromising design ethos” and its ability to “create iconic products that resonate deeply with a global audience”. According to DBCS, Razer exemplifies how “design transforms complexity into seamless platforms for gaming communities” as its approach to “humanizing technology” has helped build an “emotionally resonant ecosystem” that supports diverse playstyles from competitive athletes to content creators.
Charlie Bolton, Global Head of Design at Razer, said: “Design is at the core of how we build at Razer. Our ‘For Games. By Gamers.’ ethos is more than a tagline; it’s our philosophy shaping everything we create with, and for, our users, from community to esports athletes. Their feedback drives every decision. Our design team is involved at every stage, from engineering to experience; it’s almost like we’re designing from the inside out. Many of our biggest breakthroughs come from challenging conventions and rethinking what’s possible. Being recognized in the Design Power Index affirms our belief that design is a strategic business asset.”
The DPI 2025 cohort includes 40 companies and 20 organizations across sectors such as finance, hospitality, e-commerce, and technology. By accepting the nomination, companies affirm that design is a core driver of value across their products, services, and business models. Over the next three years, the DPI will expand to include companies across Asia, Europe, and the United States, establishing a shared basis for evaluating design’s economic impact globally.
Razer’s inclusion in the DPI not only underscores its leadership, but also sets a benchmark for how design can drive business growth and cultural relevance across industries worldwide.
