Good design starts with understanding the person it is made for. The Razer Iskur V2 NewGen has received the Gold Award at the Human-Centered Design Award (HCDA), a recognition that validates the people-first approach behind its design.
It’s a meaningful recognition for us because it validates something we care about deeply: an ergonomic gaming chair should be designed around the person spending hours in it.
What the HCDA Actually Rewards
The Human-Centered Design Award is built around a simple principle: good design begins with a clear understanding of the people it is made for. Entries are considered for their relevance and human value, including how well a solution responds to real needs, improves everyday experiences, and considers its long-term impact.
That framing matters to us because it closely reflects the thinking behind the Razer Iskur V2 NewGen. Our team studied how people sit over long periods and identified recurring challenges around heat buildup, fixed lumbar support, material durability, and seat shapes that can limit movement.
Those insights informed every part of the chair. Its material and mechanism were tested over months of everyday use to understand how they would perform beyond the first impression, whether someone was gaming, working, or creating at their desk.
Adapting to the Way People Sit

One of the clearest findings was that sitting is rarely static. Your sitting position can change throughout a single session. You might lean forward during a close match, sit back between rounds, or adjust your posture as more time passes at your desk.
The Razer HyperFlex™ Lumbar Support System was developed around that natural movement. Using the adjustable side knobs, you can personalize the level of lumbar support to suit your preferences, while the system’s 360° swivel mechanism moves vertically and horizontally conforming to your body’s natural range of motion as you shift between positions throughout the day.
Comfort Considered Over Time

How a chair feels can also change as the hours add up. The Razer Iskur V2 NewGen uses a dual-density cold-cured foam seat cushion that combines a softer upper layer with a firmer base underneath. This creates a more cushioned initial feel while providing a stable foundation engineered for more than 10 hours a day, not just occasional use.
Micro-perforations within the cushion help heat escape during extended sessions.

The Razer Gen-2 EPU Leather with CoolTouch™ technology draws heat away more quickly on contact, helping the chair feel cooler to the touch than standard PU leather. The material is also 13x more durable than regular PU leather, resisting peeling and surface wear over time.
These choices reflect the same research-led approach, with comfort considered beyond the first few minutes of sitting.
More Freedom to Sit Naturally

The team also considered the different ways people sit and shift throughout the day. The wider shoulder arches and expanded seat base of the Razer Iskur V2 NewGen is wide enough to accommodate broader hips and larger thighs comfortably.
Whether you sit cross-legged, tuck one foot underneath, or lean back between games, the wider seat base and shoulder arches provide more room to change positions. The additional space across the seat can also make the Razer Iskur V2 NewGen a more accommodating option for people with wider hips or larger thighs who often find gaming chair seats too narrow.
The 4D armrests can be adjusted across height, depth, width, and rotation, giving you more control over how the chair fits your desk setup and preferred sitting position.
That same attention to everyday use extends to the chair’s construction. It supports users up to 136 kg / 299 lbs, while 6 cm PU caster wheels are designed to roll more gently across common flooring surfaces. Its mechanisms and moving parts are covered by a three-year warranty, with the option to extend coverage for another two years.
Together, these choices give you more freedom to sit naturally, while supporting the regular use expected from a chair built for long hours at a desk.
A Commitment We’re Carrying Forward
As more of our time is spent at a desk, the products we use can shape how we feel throughout the day. Designing for that reality means continuing to listen, observe, test, and build around the people who will live with those decisions.
Receiving the Gold Award validates the people-first approach behind the Razer Iskur V2 NewGen and recognizes the work that went into understanding how people sit, move, and spend time at their desks.
It is a recognition we are proud to receive, and a commitment we will carry forward as we continue designing around real human needs.
