What happens when your AI companion doesn’t just respond, but takes initiative?

Over the past year, Project AVA has evolved steadily. It began as an AI gaming copilot concept designed to assist players in real time as an Esports coach. At CES 2026, it expanded into a 3D hologram AI desk companion—a persistent presence built to live alongside you across devices.

At GDC 2026, Project AVA enters its next chapter.

AVA now introduces agentic capabilities—the ability to interpret intent, plan multi-step actions, and execute them across connected tools and services. This is more than an incremental update. It marks a shift from AI that informs, to AI that follows through.

From AI Gaming Copilot to 3D Hologram Desk Companion, and Beyond

When Project AVA first appeared, the ambition was clear: bring an AI gaming copilot to players in a way that could provide real-time help and insight without breaking focus.

At CES 2026, Project AVA expanded into a fuller vision of what an AI companion can be—brought to life as an animated 5.5-inch 3D hologram, with the goal of being a persistent presence at your desk.

Now at GDC 2026, we’re building on that foundation with a version of AVA designed to move beyond conversation and into execution. With agentic capabilities, AVA is built to understand goals, break them into steps, and complete tasks across connected tools and services.

If you’d like to learn more about Razer AVA, you can read more here.

Agentic Workflows: From Conversation to Completion

Most assistants stop at answers. With its new agentic capabilities, Razer AVA is designed to deliver outcomes.

When given an objective, Razer AVA can determine the sequence of actions required and carry them through end-to-end. Rather than only explaining how to prepare a stream, Razer AVA can initiate the workflow—launching the relevant tools and moving the setup forward. Instead of simply reminding you about a task, it can help coordinate the actions needed to complete it.

The intention is not to add complexity. It is to reduce friction between intent and execution.

For gamers, this means less time navigating menus and setup processes. For creators, it means smoothing the path from idea to action. For everyday workflows, it introduces an AI companion to take daily tasks off your hands.

Companion-to-Companion Coordination

One of the most meaningful shifts we’re introducing at GDC 2026 is companion-to-companion coordination.

Razer AVA can now communicate with other AI companions to manage shared tasks more seamlessly. Whether it involves aligning schedules, organizing sessions, or confirming plans, Razer AVA can coordinate across companions to streamline the process.

The result is fewer manual touchpoints and more efficient collaboration—powered by agentic systems designed to operate beyond a single user.

This is not about replacing communication. It is about simplifying the mechanics behind it.

Connected Across Your Apps and Services

Razer AVA continues to expand beyond a single interface. Through deeper integration with applications, services, and chat platforms, Razer AVA can operate across your ecosystem.

If instructed to open an app, Razer AVA can launch it. If assigned a multi-step objective involving several platforms, it can navigate those connections in a structured, goal-driven way.

As these integrations evolve, Razer AVA becomes less about switching between tools and more about steering outcomes across them.

Why This Matters for Game Developers

GDC is where new forms of interaction take shape. Razer AVA introduces a new layer of possibility for how digital experiences can persist beyond gameplay.

Agentic AI companions create opportunities for characters and worlds to extend outside of traditional session boundaries. Instead of existing only within the game environment, digital identities can persist across devices and routines.

For studios, this opens the door to exploring how IP can live on through intelligent companions – supporting continuity, engagement, and new forms of interaction beyond the screen.

Experience Razer AVA at GDC 2026

The evolution of Project AVA from AI gaming copilot to 3D hologram desk companion, and now into agentic capability, signals a new direction for intelligent companions across devices. At GDC 2026, we’re showcasing how Razer AVA can plan, coordinate, and execute multi-step workflows.

For those ready to experience agentic AI in practice, the Razer AVA Beta program is now open.
