We’re Building an Analog Mouse, and We Want You to Help Us Finish It

Razer’s Leadership in Haptics & Analog: A Natural Fit

Razer has led in haptics for years – we invested in Interhaptics early, built a team of top scientists and engineers around it, and scaled Razer Sensa HD Haptics into the top gaming titles. That same depth of experience is now shaping how we approach analog switches.

We’re drawing on that experience to make sure this is more than a gimmick, a meaningful evolution of the gaming mouse, not just a new one.

One question we hear often: “Is Razer going to make an analog click mouse?”

The short answer is yes. Our engineering team is constantly developing new technologies and use cases. A Rapid Trigger mouse has been one of them.

The longer answer? Keep reading, we have a timeframe in mind for when we want you to get involved.

Phenomenal Work Takes Time

Copying is easy, and today we see many brands rushing to be first whenever an innovation hits, but “first” and “finished” aren’t the same thing.

There’s a reason the Razer Viper is among the world’s most critically acclaimed gaming mice, and the one professional gamers use more than any other1. When the Razer Viper V4 Pro launched in March 2026, it went head-to-head against the first wave of haptic-click mice on the market, and still came out on top. PC Gamer praised its “practically flawless design and build quality”2. The Shortcut named it the new overall king of gaming mice3, and SolderMag called it “the safer competitive-FPS pick for most buyers”4. We take immense pride in that. It takes relentless testing, listening, and refinement. Our approach to the next mouse is no different: we’re giving the work the time it needs.

That same rigor is what’s guiding our work on analog. Analog clicks changed what a mouse button can do, you set the actuation point, reset instantly, and fire before a traditional switch even registers.

But so far, getting analog has meant making a tradeoff.

In some mice, the click is simulated. A haptic motor fires inside a light shell, so the “thump” spreads through the whole mouse instead of staying under your finger. You end up feeling a vibration, not a click. Some offer only a handful of actuation settings, and the latency gain only shows up at the lowest one, so getting the speed means retraining years of muscle memory. Some make the main buttons press one way and the side buttons another, so your hand feels two different mice. And every added part adds weight. Keeping the mouse light meant finding room elsewhere, and battery life wasn’t where the optimization went, so you charge more often for the same game time. If the haptic engine ever goes quiet, there’s no physical switch underneath to fall back on.

Faster clicks shouldn’t cost you a better mouse. We’ve been building analog switches since 2019, across two generations of keyboards, and we’re taking the time to get the mouse right, including the parts that are easy to leave unfinished.

We have a few mandates guiding our ongoing efforts:

  • The click should feel clear and controlled under your fingers.
  • The response should feel predictable at the settings you choose.
  • The switch should work as part of the whole mouse, alongside its weight, balance and comfort.
  • Our haptics expertise means you shouldn’t have to trade click feel, weight, or speed to get it.

These priorities come straight from gamer feedback on what’s out there today, not because existing solutions are bad ideas, but because they’re early concepts. A new switch is only progress if it makes the whole mouse better. That’s the standard we’re working to, and we want you to help define it.

Built with the Community

Our mice have always been built with the community, not just for it. Early prototypes went out to esports players and hardcore gamers alike, and their feedback shaped everything from its shape and weight down to the switches and technology.

That same spirit is shaping what comes next.
