When we launched the Razer Mako back in 2008, it challenged expectations of what desktop gaming audio could be as we decked it out with some of the best-in-class technologies with the help from our friends at THX as we cram their Ground Plane technology and ClassHD amplification into a minimalist and sleek form factor.
For our first foray into high-quality, audiophile desktop speakers, we’d say we did pretty well. We were named “Most Innovative” at CES 2007 by Wired, along with winning the Audioholics A/V Magazine’s Consumer Excellence Award 2007… with that being the tip of the iceberg, the Razer Mako earned its legacy as the best of its time. Years after we discontinued the line, we continue to hear from the community to bring it back and it still is compared to this day with modern day gaming speakers.
We agree. The Razer Mako has established a name worth returning to. Introducing the new line-up of Razer Mako Speakers. Now with the THX team under the Razer fold supporting our audio engineering efforts, we’re coming full circle on our gaming speakers. A legacy, restored.
Not a V2. Meet the new Razer Mako speakers.
Bringing the Razer Mako back means more than just reviving a familiar name. It means honoring what made it special while giving a new generation of gamers a reason to make it part of their setup, from design to performance:
The new Razer Mako line retains a clean, orb-shaped form factor, giving that familiar silhouette a modern facelift with Razer Chroma RGB underglow. Powering it are custom-tuned 2.75” full-range drivers, engineered to bring your games, music, and entertainment to life. It’s a combination that stays true to Razer Mako’s character: considered design, immersive audio, and now, a new dimension of lighting to complete the experience.
The return begins with the Razer Mako X, powered with just a USB-C cable, with the rest of the lineup following into Q4 2026 and into 2027, including the Razer Mako with a standalone subwoofer.
Whether you remember the original or are discovering Mako for the first time, we’re looking forward to welcoming it back to your desktop. This is full-range immersion, from audio to visuals and a legacy restored.
