Few topics stir as much debate among gamers and developers as artificial intelligence. Our CEO Min-Liang Tan summed up our stance in a recent post on X: “AI is inevitable. Losing jobs to AI is not.” The message underlines our belief that the technology should augment—not replace—human creativity, a principle echoed by commentators who hailed our QA Companion (QA Co-AI) as an example of AI improving work rather than erasing it.
Formalising an AI roadmap
While we have flirted with machine-learning tricks for years (think our Chroma lighting profiles that adapt to on-screen action), our AI strategy crystallized in early 2025. At CES 2025 we unveiled Project AVA, an AI “Gamer Copilot” that offers real-time coaching, walkthrough hints, and PC-optimization tips. Two months later, at GDC 2025, we debuted our QA Co-AI (previously AI QA Copilot), a cloud plug-in that automatically logs bugs and generates reproduction steps for developers. Together the pair signal a shift in our identity—from a hardware powerhouse to a provider of software intellect.
Milestones so far
| Date | Event | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| 7 Jan 2025 | Project AVA/Game Co-AI announced at CES | Puts Razer on the map as an AI gaming vendor, not just a hardware brand. |
| 11 Mar 2025 | QA Co-AI showcased at GDC | Formalises an AI pipeline for developers, promising 50 % faster QA cycles. |
| 4 Aug 2025 | AI Center of Excellence launched in Singapore | First of three global hubs; plan to hire 150 AI specialists. |

How we launched two products to address industry challenges
- Game Co-AI (née Project AVA) sits on top of the game client, using vision analysis and telemetry to call out dodges, recommend skill rotations with personalized guidance and post-game analysis. As a companion AI to the human all the tips feel like a gentle nudge from a personal esports coach.
- QA Co-AI, by contrast, lives in the development pipeline. It flags animation glitches, physics breaks and performance spikes, attaching video clips and suggested repro steps to a ticket. Digital Trends reports internal tests showing a 25 % increase in bug discovery and a 50 % reduction in total QA hours per build.
By tackling how we play and how games are built in tandem, we hope to create a virtuous loop in which cleaner code leads to smoother coaching data—and happier gamers.
